Shimita El Diego (born Lukombo Nzambe) is a legendary Congolese singer and composer who became a towering figure in the 1980s and 1990s Soukous era, heavily influenced by pioneers like Tabu Ley Rochereau. After gaining widespread acclaim as a vocalist for the prominent band Le Grand Zaiko, he went on to co-found the iconic Soukous Stars.

His classic masterpiece, “Coeur Blessé” (“Wounded Heart”), perfectly showcases his soulful vocals blended with the upbeat, signature guitar arrangements of Nene Tchakou, defining the infectious rhythm of vintage Congolese dance music.
