Shimita (born Lukombo Nzambi) is a legendary Congolese vocalist recognized for his sweet, soaring tenor voice and incredible vocal range. He emerged as a powerhouse in the Congolese rumba and soukous scenes during the late 1980s and 1990s, becoming a core pillar of the Paris-based African music explosion.
The song “Conseil Kissi” was featured on the 1991 collaborative album “Maclo”, which remains one of the classic representations of the golden era of Paris soukous. The track blends traditional Congolese rumba storytelling with the uptempo, high-energy dance rhythms (“seben”) that made Soukous Stars a household name across Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean.
